This has a reference to your communication cited above, this union
is hereby highly protesting the proposal
issued by the C.O. Mumbai.
Firstly, the volume of mail does not permit the merger or
closure of mail office as per directives and agreement of department with apex
union as the volume of mail is more than 50000 daily.
Since there is no alternate night sets being functioning at APSO
Inland or CPSO Mumbai as the case may be and mail will be processed very next
day where as the local is being delivered D+1 at Kalyan RMS (at Thane) hence
there is no benefit of delivery advantage of mail or saving of manpower but it may increase the expenditure for
consignment of mail from Kalyan RMS at Thane to APSO Inland and CPSO Mumbai as
the processed mail again consigned at Kalyan RMS at Thane for mail agency work
for Thane and Kalyan District.
So, we urge upon
you to kindly drop the unscientific merger of
Kalyan RMS L-2U (at Thane) into APSO Inland
(L-1U) in Mumbai or CPSO Mumbai and status quo may be maintained for speedy transmission of mail. Your reply in this
regard is highly solicited.
