Regarding spontaneous termination of services of Drivers of MMS Mumbai.

Sub:  Regarding spontaneous termination of services of Drivers of MMS Mumbai.

Respected sir,

This union has brought to notice that services of four drivers of MMS Mumbai who completed their probation period have been terminated by the administration without giving prior intimation or notice.

The reason given by the administration is not convincing. The drivers are innocent at their side. They are terminated due to only administrative lacunas and no any irregularity or misbehave. The selection committee has not done any proper scrutiny about the merit list of candidates who appeared for the selection of Driver cadre. As per selection criteria, following procedure/examinations to be carried out by the selection committee. 1. 40 Marks Written test, 2.Based on the result/merit of the above written test candidates are short listed for diving test at the ratio 1:5,  3. The driving test  for 30 Marks to assess their competency to drive light and heavy Motor vehicles from the short listed candidates 4. The skill test for 30 Marks(Competency/verifications to remove minor defects in the vehicles, identification of spare parts etc.) 4. The final merit list will be prepared taking into account, the marks secured in all the 3 (three) test. The deprived candidates are gone all above selection tests carried out by the selection committee and finally declared successful for selection for post of Motor Vehicle driver in  MMS Mumbai.

The drivers are completed their probation period. After 5 years of satisfactory completion of service in department the declared as not deserving candidates is injustice to theses poor and innocent drivers who are living with their family and make career in this field, taken housing and other loans for fulfillment of their dreams and at this stage they could not get another job due to their age bar. Suddenly snatching their curd and butter without their own fault is injustice to them and their dependents. The termination of drivers is totally illegal and due to only administrative lapses and mistakes committed by the selection committee.


Your kind honour urged look into the matter and cause cancel termination orders in the interest of natural justice and humanitarian ground. I shall remain highly thankful to your kind honour for this act of kindness.
