To,
The Chief Postmaster
General

Sub: Problems faced
by the resident of staff quarters of
Sanchar Vihar colony, old DPS compound Nagpur:
Renovation/Maintenance thereof
Respected Sir,
This union has brought to notice that in spite of
several follow of administration has denied for maintenance of Sanchar Vihar
Colony since last few years for want of fund.
The regional
union has taken up the issue with RO
Nagpur regarding above subject vide letter dated 04.08.2016, 07.11.2016,
15.05.2017, 10.11.2017 and item also discussed in the bi-monthly meeting dated
26.04.2017.
In
this regard, the SSPO’s, Nagpur City Division, Nagpur vide his letter No.
D/Mtnce/Sanchar vihar PC/Corr/2016 dated 04.08.2016 issued letter a/to The PRI
(P), Nagpur GPO with a request to visit
the building to examine the actual problem and submission of pointwise compliance report along with an estimate for taking further course of action at
his end. Then on 24.08.2016, the SSPO’s, Nagpur City Division, Nagpur informed
that as per RO Nagpur letter No NR/Bldg-I/4-55/08/2000/III/94 dated 23.08.2016,
the civil and Electrical Work at Hugli building at Sanchar Vihar postal colony
has been regretted as funds are not available.
In
the bi-monthly meeting dated 26.04.2017, all the problems of postal quarters
was discussed and replied by the RO Nagpur that preparation of priority list
for Civil and Electrical work in respect of post offices, Staff quarters and
administrative office for the year 2017-18 is under process. Therefore, the
tenants of the colony presumed that work
of the quarters will be done in the year 2017-18.
On
09.10.2017, this regional union had again taken the issues of quarters along
with letter addressed to the SSPO’s
Nagpur City Division, Nagpur and copy endorsed to RO Nagpur which is prepared
by the resident staff regarding solve the problems facing in the quarters.
Thereon the RO Nagpur informed vide letter
dated 10.11.2017 that the above-dated
letter considered by the Postmaster General, Nagpur Region, Nagpur but regret
request due to the paucity of funds. It
is clear that the problems of a postal quarter
cannot be solved in this financial year.
It
is here pointed out that, quarter No. A-4 is vacant near about since last 4
years due to none repairing of gutter line and internal repairing. The A-6 quarter was vacant due to leakage of the slab in the rainy
season. In the last 4 years, Department had lost approximately Rs
10000/- x 12 x 4 = Rs 4,
80,000/- revenue which is getting by the Department on account of HRA.
It
is also seen by the union that the concerned authority is not serious to solve
the problems of quarters and to maintain the Government property in good
condition which has been made up by the Government on account of the welfare of staff.
It
is therefore requested to look into the matter personally and cause allotment
of the required fund. Your honour is also
urged to give suitable instructions regional PMG to visit the colony personally
and see the condition of building, quarters and actual problems facing by the staff
and to start work on repairing of the
quarters and do work one by one as per availability of fund.
I shall remain highly
thankful to you for doing the needful.
With warm regards,
Yours
sincerely,
(A B Shivtare)
